With the first round of the College Football Playoffs starting tonight, seems like a good time to get everyone's predictions.

This is not a betting topic, and there are no prizes. If you're interested, just feel free to throw out who the winners are, what you think the scores will be, effectively whatever you want. Compliment or talk shit on the contenders, you know, have fun.

First Round Games:

Rank 10 Indiana @ Rank 7 Notre Dame.
Rank 11 SMU @ Rank 6 Penn State
Rank 12 Clemson @ Rank 5 Texas.
Rank 9 Tennessee @ Rank 8 Ohio State.

For myself, who I predict to win:
Indiana
SMU
Texas
Ohio State

Who I'd like to win:
Indiana
Penn State
Texas
Tennessee.

I will say I could be very wrong about tonight's game. But Notre Dame has a bad habit of choking hard in bowl games OR smashing it out of the park. They smashed it last year, so this year my bet is on the choke. And let's face it, Indiana is a MUCH better team than Oregon State was last year, and much fiercer competition than ND has really had to deal with this year. Likewise, with Ohio State. We've seen too many times where they pulled mediocre seasons and CRUSHED their bowl games. They are a Bowl-oriented team, always have been, and I believe they'll get the job done. But I'd MUCH rather see Oregon match up vs Tennessee. We already beat Ohio State, why do we want to beat them again?

Anyhow, thoughts?

One thing you forgot to consider is that bowl games outside of the CFP are completely irrelevant as none of the starters play so they don’t hurt their draft stock :)

To improve on this...Notre as a 0% of winning. Jesus Christ, what a terrible program...Are they apart of the ACC? Do they play basketball? Do they play sports? Field hockey...lol?.

TL;DR

My 10k vs your 1k that Notre Dame does not win the CFP.

All the best,
Lil F'KN Albert

Not watched the full game vs Indiana, watching now. But I will say, ND seems to have a much better chance of winning the CFP than Indiana does. ;)

So, first prediction (and want) failed. On to the next! Playoff's fun so far.

Haha. I’ve been a ND fan my whole life. I can tell you it is completely normal for the haters to pick against us with their emotions. Sadly, it has usually been correct in my lifetime. However, I have a lot of belief in Freeman.

I will never understand the hate. They have stuck to their values and continued to only accept quality students, but oh well. Can’t please them all.

It’s good you’re watching the full game because it was not even as close as the final score indicated. IU had one chance after the early interception and that was all she wrote.

Indiana never laid down and took it. It was much closer than the score indicated. They just got outplayed in key plays. ND showed up, big time.

Good luck vs Georgia. Sincerely. My pick is Georgia. And I've lived and worked in South Bend and Mishawaka. I'm overly familiar with ND and it's fans. Not a fan. ;)

lol you are the only person in the world that thinks that game was closer than the score indicated

IU had the ball for like 5 minutes the entire game.

And that's okay. Isn't it fun having a million viewers with a million different opinions?

Like I said, the playoff is fun so far. Kickoff coming for Penn State v SMU. Enjoy the game, and go Penn State! :D

Sure, but your hate is just outweighing your common sense. They had the ball for five minutes all game. Enjoy the game.

You mean 24:20? Come now, ND having the ball 11 more minutes was thanks primarily to those key plays I mentioned.

It's not hatred. Spite paired with an extreme familiarity with ND's habit of choking in big games. Only since 1988 though.

As I said, good luck with Georgia. :)

lol even IU coach said he punted with 11 minutes to go because their offense was nonexistent. Good day.

And then his offense proved via 14 points and the prettiest onside kick anyone has ever seen that he was wrong.

It's okay man. I hate Indiana period. Two loser teams played, and the one that I preferred over the other lost. No investment. Don't take it so personal, fren. :)
