In whats to likely be the incumbent president's first role in office as well as that of his cabinet, what better than a government shutdown?

As much as Id love to start off the orange man's second term with a steaming bowl of I told you so, I really don't see this happening. We've avoided major government shutdowns since 2019. and that one was because of border wall funding. This totally cant be because of spite can it? Yet a government shutdown seems to be threatened twice a year [at minimum.] by at least one party. Only to fall into obscurity until the next time someone decides to use it as a threat.

In all seriousness. Why is Elon Musk the one leading the charge for this?

It'll pass (the temp funding bill) because they inserted the J6 override provision into it, assuring that Dem Congressmen can quash investigations into the government's handling of its J6 investigations.

The amount of things that change over a government shutdown are actually shockingly small.

SS and medicaid are still funded completely while non-essential gov employees are furloughed.

I don't see this lasting long past New Years and with minimal impact.

Solution to budgeting issues: Never pass any omnibus bill. Ever. If that requires that the government get shut down? Good. Don't fucking care.

Stop stealing my money to pay the Ukrainian government and bomb Russia. Stop stealing my money to give hundreds of millions to Black Lives Matter (BURN/LOOT/MURDER) rioters. Stop stealing my money to give free "transition treatment" to mentally ill people who need proper psychiatric care.

Fuck off with all this noise. No more Omnibus spending bills. And roll back every single piece of legislation included in all prior Omnibus packages, AND gut the Patriot act. Fuck "big government". Sick of their shit. Spending goes from 4T to 7T a year and everything gets FAR WORSE, the nation is far less secure, and federal incomes haven't changed. Still 3.5T a year. They produce nothing, they no longer protect anything, it's just a money laundering scam. Shut it down? Yes please, and why hasn't it already happened?

Yes yes. We've been listening to rich rock stars sing songs to us about how it's rich vs poor, and claiming to be poor, since before you were born. Hell, even multimillionaire Bernie Sanders tried that song and dance.
