the most common thread of nearly ALL school shooters is a simple one, access to family guns.

too many gun owners without gun safes, or with gun safes their children have access to.

literally hundreds of kids lives could be saved just by owning a gun case that your child doesn't know the access to or have the key to. its really that simple.

yet i know MANY people who have gun rooms stuffed full of guns without safes, no trigger locks, and a locked door where even the 5 year old knows the key location for. it's idiotic.

sure, the cross section is pretty slim between people with the will to go out and commit mass murder and the competency to carry it out without easy access to firearms. Its a small percentage of the population with the skill and ingenuity to figure out how to commit murder on a larger scale, and if we put up enough hurdles we can stop the angsty retards from being able to kill anyone, perhaps. But maybe we'll be encouraging people to figure out how to use poison, bombs, arson, car ramming attacks, etc. And there's no safeguards we can reasonably put up to stop all that, and boy is all of that so much more deadly than guns for a single person to cause havoc. If some 15 year old can get his hands on a gun and kill 2 people, maybe that's a small tragedy, but a jihadi with a rented cargo truck killed 86 and injured 434

this post has an incredible amount of irony.

for decades now gun advocates have said (correctly) that a small number of school shootings shouldn't negate overall gun rights. and that even if you somehow tried to outlaw them it wouldnt stop the killings.

and here you are saying that a small number of trans school shootings should negate trans rights. and that if you somehow ban them it will stop people from transitioning. not even sure how you could attempt to stop it, plus most trans shooters have lack of trans rights in their manifesto, so you'd just be tossing gas on a fire.

Can you explain clearly and concisely what "trans rights" means? All Americans have the same rights, unless you add special protections. Is it your judgement that "trans" have special protections? If they do, why?

Can you also explain why people with body dysmorphia are having their mental illness validated, rather than treated? 41% doesn't change whether they gain "transition therapy/surgery" or not. There's absolutely zero data that indicates that anything other than psychiatric treatment is helpful. Yet they seemingly have the right to drive insurance rates through the roof, effectively stealing their neighbor's money, to get "free" transition treatment/surgery. Yet 41% attempted suicide rate doesn't change. Murder and mass murder rate increases.

The reason Gun Rights for EVERY citizen who has not lost their rights through felony convictions is so important? When one of these psychotic, mentally ill mass murderers goes on a rampage, do you believe that the normal people just attempting to live a decent life should have no right to defend their lives and the lives of their children, or even the lives of the children they are teaching?

Nothing you say makes sense. Stop claiming to be a magical "conservative". You're a borderline progressive. Your beliefs reflect Marx far more than the Constitution. :)

Truck/car ramming is already the clearly superior choice for mass murder which can be carried out trivially (Toronto van ram attack and the guy stopped short, could have killed alot more than 10 if he desired but he tried to get himself shot instead), although there are often age restrictions for acquiring rentals, stealing dad's keys is a whole lot easier than breaking into a gun safe. If they can get access to a big truck then yeah, 500+ casualties isn't hard. The jihadists have practiced this stuff for decades and figured out themselves that guns are a poor tool for mass murder unless you have an entire hit squad.

The fact is that people kill people, guns don't kill people. Gun grabbers are engaging in treacherous sophistry in support of their goal of disarming the population such that they can be dominated by force, we should *never* forget that

That’s fair. It’s not a perfect system, it’s just a better system.

I’m the last person you’ll find trusting drug companies, I believe in regulating them heavily and sentencing everyone involved with jail time when they’re caught doing immoral and illegal things, which they often are.

My best friend has a rare disease that eats kidneys, an artificial one would be immune to this, instead he had to do 9 years hooked up to machines for 5 hours 3 times a week to eventually get a transplant.
They fucked up the transplant and half the kidney died, he now has 5-7 years before he needs another transplant or goes back on dialysis.

I don't know what response you're expecting from me but I don't have it. I don't like illness, I don't think anybody does. I support the systems most likely to solve the largest number of illnesses in the shortest period of time. I believe it's relatively well established that the American medical system has consistently been that system. It could be better. It should be better. But it is the best the world has at this point.

Did you read the conversation? Again, your life expectancy would be lower no matter where in the world you live without the American healthcare system being the way it is.

Idk, is your point that you spend twice as much as everyone else but a small part of that is invested into research so it's all worth it? That .. is a take, I guess.

My point is, as I’ve already clearly stated, that with a significantly smaller population than the EU, America spends over 5 times more than the EU on medical research. This directly and significantly contributes positively to the health of the entire world.

Perceiving the American healthcare system as primarily a system of greed is ignorant. It’s literally the most positively productive healthcare system in the world and no one else is even close.

Top part you're strawmanning, im not for some vague legitimization of "trans rights", in fact im very anti trans rights compared to liberals. the person i quoted is more extreme than me, which is fine that's his opinion, but leveraging typifying events like a trans shooter every few years as a mechanism to be anti trans rights just isnt good policy. just like school shooters generally as typifying events arent a good mechanism to eliminate gun rights.

trans rights should be leigitimized or shot down on their own merits, same as gun rights, not removed because of fringe events. thats what my post means.

as to the bold i dont claim to be nor am i a conservative, im a left leaning libertarian who is fiscally conservative and socially just left of center. ive always styled myself and believed im a centrist.

i dont disagree, im more keen to safeguard guns to remove the excuse liberals have that they are the only mechanism for school killings.
