Kinda surprised anyone responded to this thread but I'll take a shot (D4 okay, not going to buy the expansion have fun with the 100 trillion dps class competing with 1 billion dps classes): POE2 will be decently well received for 2-4 months and then people will weary of it especially the campaign being way too long and all the "optional" content that isn't optional due to giving permanent stats. At this point it comes down to do they gut the POE1 staff entirely and never make a new/good POE1 league or move entirely to POE2 full time, if they do the latter then probably POE2 will be good in 2-3 years or so; if they split development we'll occasionally get a good POE1 league and maybe twice as rare as that get a good POE2 league. That said they did take the best two mechanics they ever made and force everyone to play them via ascendancy so there's some hope from that precedent (i.e. they're aware when a mechanic is good or not, except for having Necro Settlers).

why the hate brothers i mean poe2 really doesnt look like an improvement over poe1 (well apart from graphics) but people still rate it higher, thats kinda the definition of overhype
