Can someone please point me to an in-depth Javazon guide for D2R. I haven’t played in years and it seems with the changes that came with D2R I will need to brush up on proper skill/gear management.

Non tele preferably, with a list of upgrades and what to work towards.

Thank you!

Most comfortable for PvM is:

Enough Str and Dex for gear, rest into Vit

2 Jav 20 IAS 30 LR 30 CR gloves
Arachs
30 / 10 / 40 LR 40 FR boots
Raven
10 FCR ring with stats and res
Swap: CTA and Spirit
Merc: Act 2 Might, Cure, Infinity, CoH

Cube, torch, anni, light sunder, 2x 5 FHR 5 All Res SCs, 7x 20 life 5 res SCs, 1x Jav FHR GC, rest Jav 45 life GCs

50 IAS BP, 48 FCR BP (68 FCR BP om swap), 32 FHR BP, 105 FRW

Definitely not this.

You need enigma
You need spirit
You need rep on jav else you can’t even do a full run without having to go repair them

Here the standard pvm build :
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/3q3eb0u9

Anything else is just more expensive and not as good.
Players who still suggest phoenix are just clueless, spirit is more dmg, fixing your fcr and fhr bps, more life/mana/res. You don’t need redemption for mana sustain… you just need a proper build with good enough phys dmg and a bit of mana leech.

Eth upped titans are extremely hard to beat for pvm. They have frw. They have much faster rep timer than rare javs, and their high phys dmg allows you to be full mana with just a little mana leech.
Might merc to help with that purpose.

Agreed

Only swap id consider is tstrokes and swap ias jewel for facet for more damage but in the situations where you do big dmg like vs high density with fury or single target with cs you’ll be over killing most of the time. The tstroke setup just leads to higher % on monsters dieing but at the cost of mana sustain and repairs. I prefer the comfort of titans because repairing, especially when you need to manually swap cubed tstrokes out to repair separately each time really breaks the flow state for me

I’m not convinced that Spirit is better than Phoenix in PvM. Phoenix has 400 ED, more life and mana (50 life + redemption), and offers higher res (max lightning and fire). 32 FHR is enough and you still tele at 68 FCR.

In PvP Phoenix is preferred over Spirit vs casters (although Swordback is preferred over both of them). Stormshield is used vs melee.

And you have to wait for redemption procs when you should already be onto the next screen. At best it’s ok to use if you’re slow but if you clear efficiently it only slows you down relative to spirit.

I don’t find myself ever waiting for redemption to proc. The only thing that slows me down in P8 TZ runs is if I throw too much and have to wait for javs to rep.

I have tried 6/40 + Spirit setup for max skills (as opposed to max damage with Titans and Phoenix), but prefer the latter.
