If you want to do this you can export your gold logs to excel and add your own comment that way. I can see this potentially causing many headaches in certain moderation instances and don't actually see any additional benefit that using an excel document, google sheet, etc... can't provide.

But tbh I don't want to go through all the trouble of exporting stuff instead of simply just adding a line of text to the already existing gold log :lol:

so what you want is to add your own comment to a log in which another person sent you Gold?

I guess that makes more sense, however as eerock stated I feel this will just cause headaches from a mediation standpoint trying to track down matching gold logs and the legitimacy of the comments added.


for instance;

if I trade with a user for x amount of ber runes on Monday,

then Tuesday I make a trade with the same user for a griffons, what's stopping that person from just adding the custom comment "griffons" to the prior gold log and claiming they sent gold for the item when in reality they are just relabling a trade from the day before.

now it's cause for additional prerequisite logs to keep track of when things were changed making it harder for site mods to do thier jobs.

just my personal opinion though, good luck!

if we did a trade of a Shako 141 Def, you left the comment empty, I wouldn't be able to edit yours but add a line next to yours with my own comment in this case would be 'Shako 141 Def'

And of course there would be a maximum of letter like in the original gold logs comment.

And it would have to be a one time thing to make the comment so you can't change it later.

if that was the case you would also have to put a time limit on how long you are able to wait to edit said comment.

much like the time limit on how long you have to edit your post.

if you do not edit within 30 minutes of a trade the option to add comments to that log show disappear

Easy to implement, but it may require a ton of drive space. If 1,000,000 d2jsp users each stored 64 character long gold log comments, it would require about 6.4gb of space in a .txt file. Multiply that by the total number of gold log comments.

It would be easier to allow a full HTML/CSS/JS export that includes a custom comment box because then you can just open a local file, input your own comments, and look. It is not like custom comments are admissible in the S/A forum.

An export all button would be nice.
