Edc beats 99% of 1os erep weapons tho.

And yes this would be better if it was a zerker axe and not Ettin.

I was in GM Melee for years and years. I had one of the Top BvB melee builds for a long time. Then moved on to GM Melee with Zealot. Zealot is a very tough build to perfect every single thing has to be considered when putting together a strong GM melee Zealot build. Especially if there are guidelines to consider when competing in some of the Tournaments they use to have back in the day like King of the Barbs or IronMan etc etc.

I never stated this was not a good axe because it is very rare with a few down sides. The main down side is that the big Melee builds back in the day would eat this axe for breakfast because everyone had a Eth foolz 2os Zerker axe of some kind or a build that uses Ebotdz or EDC etc etc

This item is good but not the best is all I was stating.

Erep 1os is not that effective and i would always lean towards an edc.

I miss the really old stuff though to be honest eth runemaster axe with 4x 40-15ias jewels & zod rune / 50dr levi / 2os 80/30 Perfect Dr CoA

good old fashion Pub Pk builds were fun as hell sometimes.


And then as we progressed started to see visionaries and foolz eth rep weapons and stuff.

Then the crafted packs started going and we were off to the races with CB gloves and DS 2os visionary helms etc etc

I remember in Classic D2 we would use Rare CB swords socketed with P Skulls. Carrion Armor and what not. Such a fun fun time in d2 when we had Blue barbs doing mad dmg in the melee pvp world of d2 classic.

no.... edc does not beat an erep fools ever in z v z. the result is usually 15 vs 11 ish. the only excpetion when an edc beats fools would be against ones that have lower than 280eds in fast bases -10wsm and below bases.
i experimented heavily with this. edc and rm looks great on paper but
they fail in real life. they are just beginners weapon until you get real erep fools or cruels.

but to be fair, they will beat most sub 280ed fools and sub 400ed cruels. but i wouldnt say edc is > 90percent of ereps since items in circulation at the moment are mostly above 280ed ones.

So its main downside is completely irrelevant in D2R because the “big melee builds back in the day” don’t exist anymore and we don’t have imports in D2R. Got it.

EDC has been losing terribly to all sorts of higher end 1os ereps in D2R for months now, and consistently losing at that too.

The point tooth was making is that this isn’t in the ideal base and is only 280ish Ed.

Tons of areas for improvement.

Well yeah it could be a 40/300/2os erep fools mallet but in D2R we take what we can get, this still kicks ass o.o

Yes it could also be a 290ieh Ed zerker.

Which would mean it would have more dmaagw than this, more range and be in a faster base.


Which is the whole issue of calling a weapon in a non ideal base, a trophy.
