I just let mine stockpile then when i need em i use em.
I have a lot so it's not like i'll be running out anytime soon.

I always sell my portal gems. They fetch a good price and tp scrolls drop all the time. Plus saves time switching gems (or gear on switch).

not worth the spot on your limited skill bar.

its the same as when you have lots of auras you just swap over to the one you want to use

If your boosting with multiple chars, the amount of portal scrolls you blow through is insane. Using it to help level them and just moving the boosters around is nice and free. Also having a portal gem even if its not actively on your bar is nice because you always have a portal. When I used it I always had actual portals as well for quick escapes.

i dont cop out and boost chars i actually play.
i always have portals cus well i keep those things called scrolls
its not like you can pop a portal gem fast anyway it has an insane cast time and the way portals work in this game isnt like d2 if you click on a portal you dont instantly poof away form the area you can still die as you are loading they changed this a few patchs back

You can't use it for a quick escape, but when your giving friends WP's and helping them boost characters etc you waste tons of scrolls. I actually gave my portal gem to a friend on the current HC ladder just because he plays more than me. I never have an issue with lack of portal scrolls myself.

You can make the portal gem alot better, GCP's and link it to faster casting support gem. But even still its hardly close to the speed to clicking a portal, and at that point your wasting GCP's and 2 sockets and possibly 1 support gem.

I realized after a few hours of playing PoE that Portal Gems aren't even necessary as long as you don't TP every 2 seconds like we did in D2.

Simply don't pick up shit items to sell to NPC. Only pick up potentially good items.

Precisely, i only pickup items that can pertain to me.
