I never see anyone streaming it on Twitch, wondering if it's dead.
The game looks fun, and I'm done playing Wow. Time to find a new game.
Worth the money?

I'd say so. I recently came back a couple days ago after a 6 month break, still tons to do. Plus it just has a better feel, not cartoonish like wow was, for me anyway. If you want to give it a shot for free, I believe trion still offers 10 day trial accounts, which you can sub and upgrade your account later.

Its free to play up until lvl 20, after which you have to sub. Just by the game itself rift is definitely one of the top mmos right now. Love that any class can take on any role such as tank/dps etc, and all the combinations are still different.

I'd say it also depends on what you are looking for in an mmo. If leveling and questing is what you are interested in, you might be a bit dissapointed, as population at lower levels is pretty low, some zones i've run through without seing hardly anyone. Think the US servers have a bit better pop than EU though.

At level 60 its alot better, lvl 60 pop is pretty big, so usually very low queue times on pvp/dungeons. Alot of guilds raiding etc. too. And there are TONS of things to do in rift too, like artifact hunting, completing achievements, dungeons/experts/10man/raids, rifts, world events, great hunt rifts etc etc.

Currently at level 37 but I seem to see a lot of people on my server even at low levels so I cant wait to see the extent of the people at level 60, there are like he says a lot of stuff to do at 60
