I have been contemplating for a long time whether or not to start rift and have decided to check it out before actually jumping into buying it.

I am a very competent WoW player with basically all heroic boss kill achievements upto DS (DS is just the worst content ive ever seen, play it casual and got 3/8hc ZZzzzzz)

1) Which EU server is best for raiding (activity wise, idc for world first 11/11hk people etc)
2) Where is the best database for all raids items etc... kinda like wowhead version for rift
3) Im planning to level as a mage but i have read some things and theres quite a lot of raids out there. Will i need to raid the pre-HK raids to get to a HK guild or have they done what wow has done and let us noobs boost our gear so we aint too far behind?

Just wondering as im a little worried ill get to max lvl and not be able to actually do anything.

Wow, you're going into this knowing way more than I do.

I'm level 40 and have no idea what HK is. I'm in some rand guild, solo'd the game to my current level and still haven't much a clue as to what's going on.

Also iso the item database though, and possible a build database

HK = Hammerknell, the Tier 2 raid.
After doing some reading ive figured that all content is still being run alot, and there are Tier 1 and Tier 2 raids.

Tier 1 consists of

10man

Drowned Halls
Guilded Prophecy

20man

Greenscale Blight
River of Souls

Tier 2 consists of

10man

Rise of the Phoenix

20man
Hammerknell


And the best server i have been told are:

Bloodiron PvP.
Icewatch PvE.

But yea, basically to answer my own questions

Goto Icewatch and then raid tier 1 content then hammerknell, which i want to do regardless to see the bosses they implemented

But yea AnimeFTW, i have been basically watching a lot of videos and i have NO IDEA what is going on. It looks epic though lol

Ah, okay. Now I need to find a place where I can find good builds, then join a guild that raids a bunch!

Is Tier gear better than PvP gear?

rift.zam.com is the wowhead of rift.

but rift has started dying imo, played since release and quit like 2 months ago, just... isn't the same.

was fun in the start since it was something new but idk, it's like every other mmo, it gets old, and content is blahhh.


imo wait for gw2 like alot of other people.

anyways, for getting to top raids, prolly just find random runs that people do at max level for gsb/RoS, grab some quick gear and hopefully find a guild thatll accept you for HK, which won't be likely.

Iv just hit 50 not to long ago, you can buy decent items on Ah, enough to get 320 hit with enchantments and some random shit gear for HK. However all raids are run frequently, theres tons of Pdkp runs where items are sold.. usually cheap except for relics. If you want a top HK guild most ask that you have a water Sigil already but will gear you up... which really dosent take to long. Pugs usualy do GSB, GP, ROS, DH. Rotp and HK guilds do pick up pugs once in a while as well (more so ROTP)

What's a water sigil?

water sigil is from an world event quite a few months back, currently it's unable to obtain the tokens used to purchase it, as far as I know.

Right now you can farm Glass Beads
Turn them into the currency
Buy the Barnacle encrusted Sigil

But, a water sigil is the Guardian equivalent to the Defiant Source Engine. The "water" resist part is referring to the type of resistance essences you stack in the sigil, a lot of people ask for roughly 100 water resist in your sigil.

Oh, okay. The Barnacle Encrusted Source Engine is only +40 resist, if I recall correctly...
How would one go about getting a +100?
