Wrong.
Restart program and or computer. If that doesn't work something got jacked. uninstall and reinstall.
Why do I get the error message "You are not authorized to play" when I try and log in to RIFT?
The error messages "You are not authorized to play the game" and "You are not entitled to play the game", when trying to log in, could mean a few different things.
Typically the error message means that your account does not have the product registration key applied to it.In order to get past this error you will need to redeem your registration key on the account management screen by clicking apply code. After you put the key in and click submit you will need to choose a subscription and complete purchase. You will thenbe able to lign and play.
STEAM users: If you have not received a pre-order key via email, you can find it by right-clicking RIFT in your STEAM client and selecting “View game CD key.” This is the code you want to enter on your Trion Account Management screen.
If you have successfully applied a registration code to your account and are still receiving this error message, please:
Log in to
http://account.riftgame.com/ and click “Change password” from your “Manage account” screen.
Change your password and log out.
Log in again and click “Manage Games” to check the status of your pre-order entitlement
(this has been known to fix Error 2002 on occasion).
Also free trial users will receive this error until you first activate the trial on your account. And also after the trial is up until you purchase and activate the game.
