events gettin bored after lvl 20, quests are even more boring than in wow and the most important point in an mmorpg.
the endcontent in rift is horrible in comparison to wow, pve and pvp wise.

guess you never played wow then, here's a summary of ALL quest in wow.

1) Escort NPC X to Place X
2) Defend Item X from monsters X
3) Kill X amount of Monster Y
4) Go talk to NPC X
5) Collect Item X and Item B
6) Destroy/blow Y amounts of Item X
7)Dailies
8) Win X battleground
9) Kill Boss X

WOW! 9 types of quests ! that's alot...
same as in rift
