Thinking of picking this up, how's everything? Heard lots good, and lots bad.

I would say worse than WoW on many standpoints. But, on the other hand, it IS new. If you want a new experience (bored of WoW, etc.) then go for it. New MMOs are almost always fun for the first few months, simply b/c they are different.

well wows graphics are loaaads better. but this game could become the next wow.. because its just like it and many people simply want to play new games
and would rather play this then wow, also its cheaper then buying all the exps, and you can pay 60 for 6 months. huge deal

Played wow since shortly after release, got bored of it at the start of WOTLK. Rift is something new / fun, half my guild quit to play it. I followed suit and actually quite enjoying it so far. Very very fun

This is the main reason to play the game, imo. The game itself is nothing new and is severely lacking in both the questing and "open" departments, but it seems fun, at the very least.

Also, to the people saying better than vanilla/early WoW etc., you are forgetting that WoW actually broke a lot of new ground for MMOs. I have yet to see anything groundbreaking in Rift...

More importantly than anything, read reviews (they are less biased than us folks on these forums). Expect reviews anywhere from awful to good for this game; it does have its fair share of flaws. Just make sure those flaws don't make or break the game for ya, because it does do some things very right.

idk about groundbreaking but i see a lot of SKYbreaking.

i personally think rifts graphics are better at high then wow. as long as your pc aint shit and can actually run it. and the game itself i like much more then wow. (for now anyways)

this
