Not really, there is just so many now the population is spread all over the place.
Actually, a lot of people (like me) are starting to quit them altogether.
Why?
Every MMO is the exact same steaming pile of shit.
Rift is the same as WoW. I don't care how much people in this sub-forum glorify it. I loved WoW in its older days, but now I am hating it. Not because it is bad, but because it is old. People are growing tired of that over-abused formula that WoW, Everquest, and so many others have used.
And now, I am hating Rift, because, again, they use the EXACT SAME system that every other MMO uses.
Unless some of these other new MMO companies can produce something original, this type of gaming will start to tank. I have high hopes for games like Tera and GW2 that are taking new directions in the MMO market. But, at this point, I get sick every time I see a new MMO announced, with the knowledge that it is probably another horrible Everquest spawn, like all of the others.
As said above:

MMO's are a dying breed
The gaming community is flooding the market with multitudes of shitty MMOs. The developers are single-handedly destroying the market by mass-producing these awful games. Due to the nature of the MMO market, I don't even expect quality anymore; I expect failure.
MMOs are the only type of game where you glance at it momentarily and say "That game will be dead a few months from now. No thanks."
Quality is expected of games in any other genre, but in the MMO market, standards are starting to hit rock-bottom. It's pathetic.

I played rift for a month, then emailed them asking for my money back
If only they would.
I have only played for a week, and I can say this is the worst $60 I have spent in years. I'd rather buy a console game.
