rift players seem to be huge dicks and think rift is amazing for the 2 things they didn't copy from wow.. gameplay is basically the same. actually rift is easier cuz you can macro all ur attacks to 1 button and it works
people ask for lfg tool and dps meter because they were nice things from wow that many people used... but bless your soul if you mention that in the rift forums you get your ass handed to you for even having the thought.. and instantly everyone goes to the "this isnt wow" argument
fuck that it is wow pretty much, just like wow is a combination of good things it took from other games.. why the fuck does it matter honestly?
people need to get over themselves, its a game, if you want to play it go ahead. if you dont want to no one is forcing you..
and everyone seems to think wow was the first mmo ever created. i think it would be hard to find something from wow that wasnt in a game prior.
honestly i dont care, i played wow for a few years on and off, only going to rift for a change... now im just getting sick of mmo's
no one will ever take a game for what it is. it will always be compared to wow, or whatever game is the big thing

/end rant.. for now

cool story bro.

Another WoW nerd fan assuming their game invented the instance system. lol An instance is like anyyyyyyyyyyyyy dungeon and the difficulty of needing a group to kill a boss has been around for yearssssssssssssssssssss. They call it an instance rather then a dungeon and allow you to reset it and then people claim they invented it? Ever played ultima online? Came out Yearsssssssssss before WoW and they had dungeons where you needed 20 people or so to effectively kill a boss and their minions like instances but your right. They took that idea from WoW, A game that hadnt been invented yet. Cool story bro  You get an A+ for Stupidity WoW Nerd.

That's the thing most people don't understand.

WoW won't die until Blizzard kills it. People are too stupid to quit the game themselves. No matter how much Blizzard messes with it, the players just suck it up and keep on playing.

Once Blizzard releases its second MMO, THEN WoW will go down. I don't think it will until then. Stupid players are stupid.

I've written this many many times for people that have no understanding of MMO's past history.

WoW will NEVER die, period. WoW will die ONLY when Blizzard shuts off the servers (which would be very stupid). Ultima Online (UO), was the first MMO ever and it was released in 1997. It was the first P2P online game, and MANY critics said it would fail. 14 years later, and 8 expansions it is still running. Obviously player base has declined (except for the hardcores) but it will never lose it's entire player base until EA shuts the servers off themselves.

Also, every MMO created and that will be created copies aspects from Ultima Online. If nothing else other than claiming they're an MMORPG (since UO's Producer is the one that came up with this term).

So there you go, like the 5th time i've written this out for people that have no, or limited, background knowledge of MMO's. WoW will NEVER completly die (without outside help).

ultima online has dungeons and not instances.
an instance is a special area, typically a dungeon, that generates a new copy of the location for each group, or for certain amount of players, that enters the area.
the system that every group has their own dungeon id, so that they dont need to share the dungeon with others.
thats why it called instances

now get good u geeky gimp.
how is it possible to be that stupid? derp

I never said "completely" dead.

Dead refers to the state of very little people playing it anymore.

If 100 people are still playing the game, then it is dead. They aren't going to make any more expansions etc for the game, and it will come to a standstill at that point.

Every dead MMO still has people playing it. A dead MMO is just characterized by 0 support, and likely is full of hackers etc. since the company owning it will not update it any longer.

Dead doesn't mean "No players," it means the game has basically come to a full-out halt and is degrading to the point of nothingness.

No game can completely die, despite how bad the graphics may be or how bad the population becomes, because crack heads will always smoke crack. For instance you have a large population of adults playing this game Minecraft. The graphics are basically legos yet there is a population of die hard fans which swear by it and dedicate youtube videos and forums to something so idiotic. Wow wont die but the population will die down making it a bit boring, and of course u have people with no lives that will continuosly play all Mmorpgs paying the monthly fee just to remain active in a community they just cant seem to escape. If those people dedicated at most 50% of the effort they give to a game they might actualy be more successful then bill gates. People who cant strategically pay bills seem to crunch numbers determining their rate of survival vs a boss in any given instance/dungeon. Such a shame, and companies like Blizzard can and always will be digital drug dealers feeding the addicts and laughing behind their desks.

Hey bad, get your shit right - Anarchy Online was the first MMORPG to use Instances, it came out in 2001 - Three years before WoW.
