rift's decent imo, I played wow since vanilla and now its just old and boring, and imo Aion wasnt that bad either.. but thats just my opinion.. So far out of all the games Ive played recently (wow, aion, ffxiv) im really enjoying myself with rift its a nice change. It has its similarities to wow but it also has its differences. I agree its not a groundbreaking game, but I also disagree that it will die down fast. I think it will only get better as time progresses.

bottom line. I myself am enjoying it.

The key to playing these types of games (imo) is to not play too much. You cannot expect designers to create new content for people that play well over 40 hours a week.
It is a lot of fun, and I hope very much and Trion addresses current issues.

as ive followed many times before fanboy is a fanboy is a fanboy... get good at gaming before you try and review the most bought mmo in any mmorpg's history, wow did not release with 1million accounts... +1 wow did not have interactive pve/pvp ... +1 yes alot of things have been brought over from successful be it temporary or not to RIFT all current mmo's share 1 thing real life players playing pixel characters to achieve goals in a pixelated online game. You have yet to include any secure arguments that rift is worst then wow in any way, my above statements put rift +2 without going into much detail... I say try rift out, if you do not enjoy it im sure gateguy has a spot in his cant clear any content in any game soon guild. end rant.

Game is good, worth playing, to me it seems like it's got a bright future, sturdy fanbase already, and the playerbase is growing quickly. ALOT of different combinations as far as characters/class goes, 3 different 'souls' for each class (not really sure how Wow is, I didn't play it for more than 3 weeks) but yea...im enjoying it, and playing on Ashstone, pvp server.

hm. is it wowlike in the sense that you need 3 dps/tank/healer for instances, there are raids, and things of that nature?

when you kill 2 of the same mob do they both have the same death animation/ fall in the same position?

Yes it is.
But heres the different from wow.
You have 4 overall classes to choose from .
Rogue
Warrior
Cleric
Mage

Each of those then have 7 souls which can be put together by 3 souls to make your character unik.

1 of the rogues soul is a riftstalker which allows them to Tank, another is a bard which allows them to support heal.

warriors are dps / tank

Clerics can tank/dps/ main heal

mages can dps/support heal

and besides that you get to have 4 different specs which you can activate at no cost,
so by playing a cleric you could have a dps spec for doing daileys etc and then have the healing spec for raids
also u could have a tank spec for helping out friends in dungeons and by the last spot u could have a PvP build with the pvp soul.

So overall alot of choices, and imo thats what makes this game so much better than WoW seeing as your not lacking a tank/healer for raid nights / dungeons.
