I believe it was Picasso who said "A good artist copies, a great artist steals."

Of course a game developer will take successful aspects of other games and implement them in to their own game. It then becomes their burden to improve upon those aspects. The verdict is still out on that, as the game is yet to be released, so I think you're jumping the gun a bit here.
