are there servers? anybody really like/hate the one they chose?

any general tips for getting started? I've played WoW pretty seriously for a few years, but never tried any other MMO...

Welcome to RIFT!, there's two main JSP servers Lotham and Spitescar [guardian] (i'm on spitescar and really love it, http://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?i=150359 can tell you about Lotham if you want to learn about waht they have going there.)

You shouldn't have any real problems with RIFT if you've played wow, but feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

looks like a pretty legit game so far. Graphics are definitely impressive. Spitescar was full so I just picked a random pvp server.

Mostly just been playing around different classes seeing what I like. I'm digging the rogue so far, but I've always been more of a fan of ranged dps. I'll check out the cleric tomorrow. Any tips on cool combinations?

Explore, remember you can unlock all 8 souls and have 4 different specs comprised of any 3 of the 8 once you're about level 14 or 15 (unlocking more than 2 or 3 specs is pricy though)

when you decide what you wanna roll, you should come back to spitescar, this is the first time it's been full since launch really. (stupid peak hours. :P)

Ah ok this is the info I was looking for. Didn't realize you could unlock all 8, I was thinking I was locked in to whatever I chose at the start. That's good to know, I'm going to try the cleric out this evening after work, ill prob stick with that one for a while
