Some say they are the smartest animal, cause each arm operates independently and every call color on their skin is controled by their brain, but sadly (or thankfully) they only live 3 years I think.

I've watched so many documentaries about all kinds of animals including octopus but i've never seen this behaviour...

That shows just how much more aware those animals r of their surroundings...

I hope this is not a lab octopus thats being taught how to do this... If its a completely wild animal that has figured this out on its own, this is amazing...

what the shit that is awesome. the way it keeps the shell under its arms for when it needs it is pretty crazy. the fact that it figured out it can fit inside the hard shell is one thing but seeing it carry the shell around like that is what really blows my mind, thats planning ahead to the fullest I also wonder if it learned this from watching crabs or other shellfish.
