I read this, and found it interesting..

To put our effects on this earth into retrospect for some whom don't believe our footprint is THAT heavy.

Imagine the Earths age is scaled from 4.6 billion years old to 46 years old, this would mean that we have been inhabiting it for 4 hours. Our Industrial Revolution began just 1 minute ago. In that time, we've destroyed nearly 50% of the earths forests. This is NOT sustainable.

That means the Sun is going to run out of fuel in just 5 years, so who cares what we do? The entire solar system has a mere 5 years of existence left.

Actually, theres enough fuel in the sun for a few more billion years, but keep throwing sand cause that'll help.

Sure, in galactic scale, everything is insignificant and irrelevant to worry about.

But while we're here, why not take care of what we have?

Think about carbon dating. Gems n the layers of the crust. Our lord of lights got fed up with a few different type of creations n rebooted.. It's just that easy to destroy something.... If its not reverted, we're settin ourselves up for d00m

We keep destroying the earth nanosecond by nanosecond.

It's hard to bring up a subjects such as this one.
Then scale it, the way you did.
To show how humans treat the planet they live on.

Problem is, without even scaling it, most people (as you can clearly see) aren't even humble enough to care, or realize any of this. And that's me being as nice as I can be, without getting hit with a "warn".

---

As for my thoughts, as I've mentioned in similar other topics; we are now, finaly, much more aware of this.
Many many people are inventing ways to help the planet.
Although, sadly $ still governs everything, and so major coorporations and what not, are totaly fine with using up everything and living off the $ they make from it. Without a care in the world for the consequences.
Furthermore, I believe the current generation of humans, (avg. age group user of d2jsp), we'll see one of these consequences arise and become a reality, that hopefully will shift the human consciousness to change drastically.

i fuken typed out all these calculations and i pressed back by accident.

bascially we have been inhabiting it for 17.51 hours not 4 hours lol. And the industrial revolution if u take it at 1760 or w/e its 1.34 minutes ago.

anyway what really sucks is that this is only one of the ways we are screwing things up. Another way is like companies that pollute toxic into the atmosphere. Stuff that can block out the sun if too much of it is in the air.
