dug out an old CD player and going to take it to work... problem is, i don't access to an outlet... so i have to resort to batteries.

120v 60hz 17w small CD player... probably going to be played full blast due to it being loud.

running off of 8 C batteries... how long do you think this will last for?

if anyone can answer this scientifically, i will donate some fg.

its honestly too hard to say because its power output is constantly changing.

you could estimate it if you were going to play a single tone for the entire period of the battery life, but with music you won't ever have a hard time period of use.

watts/volts=amp(generic if it was like a constant tone)

after you know how many amps it draws you will need to know how many amp hours your batteries put out. mAh is the rating to look for on the battery.

after you know how many amp hours worth of battery you have you then divide it by the amp draw of the device and you'll have a somewhat accurate answer of how many hours of play time you can expect from the device.
