Quote
In a public meeting with NASA’s chief, the agency’s top scientists have said that they expect to find alien life within the next 20 years. Unfortunately, for those hoping that Europa or Mars might harbor life, NASA is fairly confident that the discovery of extraterrestrials will probably be outside our Solar System rather than within it. But still, suffice it to say, the discovery of life of any kind outside of Earth’s atmosphere would be massive news. Within 20 years, we could finally find out that we’re not alone in the universe — and, well, that would change everything.

Well, for one thing. I do fully agree that any form of intelligent life wont be found near us, would be out of our solar system, if not even further. (I've explained why in another thread)

But the fact that, they even dare saying, "we could finally find out that we’re not alone in the universe — and, well, that would change everything" well I laugh at that. Seriously I believe it's naive to think they havn't found proof of any aliens, or even had contact with them. Thinking that they would just come out and tell the world the truth, ya... not yet.

NASA is a bunch of goofs, yea 20 years ok... 200 years would be a good "guess" at best, and I think they would be finding us, not the other way around. More realistically 2000-20,000 years.

we immediately assume any life we find outside of our planet will be on par or superior in intellect. the simple finding of microbial life outside of our planet would be significant in that we would have definitive evidence that life is not unique to our planet alone.

Yes you did.

"This is the science forum. Fictional stories and characters belong under entertainment section, fellowship, or pard."

You're pretty much saying, any christian logic shouldn't be supplied in the Science forum, which means science cannot be used with Christianity which couldn't be more wrong.

No..he's saying that claims with zero scientific evidence don't belong in this science subforum.

You claimed "An eternal being that exists outside of time." ...there is no scientific evidence of such a thing.

So take such claims to the religious or sci-fi sections.
