I'm looking to help a company voluntarily that specialises in caring for people just come out of brain surgery.
It's basically going to be a visual calander and/aswell as a step by step guide for everday things like cooking instructions etc.
Essentially the software side of this is just to have pictures that links to new pages of pictures and so on and so forth.

SO... to the point. There isn't a specified size of the board so to speak, but i would guess around 70" or so. (small whiteboard like at school (without a projector? maybe? does that double it in price?))
What would be a rough figure for this? Any recommendations?
Also is there software needed to buy for this too or will it come with basic software that I would be using it for as default?

Going to look into this myself aswell but it is a little out of my depth of knowledge. If anyone in "in the know" and could help me out, that would be HUGELY helpful!

Thanks in advance,
Mii ^_^

e: Hope this is the right forum for it.

When I was a student at the UofC, they built a new digital library and put in a bunch of touch tables, boards, etc. They bought everything from http://smarttech.com/
It did come with some basic software, although the university wanted something totally different and hired me to write some basic touch-based apps for them. Microsoft has a surface SDK for this sort of thing that worked quite well for me. If the software you want is something many people would find useful, then it probably already exists and can likely be had for fairly cheap (or even free). Otherwise, you'd need to pay someone to write it for you. If they are a non-profit, maybe they can get the work donated to them. I know a couple people who volunteer as software devs for non-profits.

Just FYI, the boards you want will likely be pretty expensive if you buy new. SMART sells their 70'' ones for like 10K for LED panels, 5K for projector ones.

So i've noticed! I have been now looking into touchscreen overlays as the interactive boards are way above price range. But thanks for all your info and if this works out it could be hugely helpful if I could contact you about the devs you know.
