just look at the size of the universe and realize how insignificant earth is.

that pedestal you speak of is anthropocentrism - a type of wide spread delusion-disease that effects many human societies. one of the major sources for this destructive thinking is christianity and related religions. anthropocentrism is arrogant, greedy, shallow, and sometimes just plain stupid. the impacts are often negative to the ecosystem we live in. many humans are effectively shitting where they eat.
