I need some opinions and/or facts here, please. Can you answer this if you happen to know?

Is this easy to set up? Can you record shows that you watch? Does with work with Prime, Ama...?

This is for sale in brand new condition as Refurbished for just 69.99 USD, called the Roku 2 XD streaming player 1080P

OT

Easy: Yes
Record: No, not without some extra add-ons and a computer to record to. (google "playon" for that)
Channels: I've got hulu, amazon, netflix, and a bunch of smaller names. Most channels are free, but there are many pay (subscription based) channels too.

I'd say that the price tag there is a bit high. I think you can get the 2 for cheaper.
Any other questions?

Honestly, I love the dam thing.

Yes, I do thanks for asking.

Considering Amazon works on the device, what one would you suggest as far as quality, not looking at the USD?

Thanks lots Qord!

I've got a 2 xd and it works as advertised, so I can't honestly speak to the other models. If I watch something in HD from Amazon, it comes to me in HD. There was one (1) occasion where the HD failed and screen quality went to shit. I complained and Amazon refunded the rental fee. I've never had any problems with Netflix, but Hulu like to buffer occasionally.

I can think of really only two downsides with this specific device, wireless only. Not really a big deal, but I would have preferred to have my wireless router located somewhere else in the house. The roku 3 had an ethernet port, but I'm holding out for Gig speeds. Hopefully next time. I do a lot of streaming from a plex and playon server in-house, so local speeds mean something to me. The other downside is development. Anyone can make a channel, which is great in many ways! But, much like Microsoft programs, there's not an awful lot of quality control so some channels don't work very well. They might be good for weeks or even days, then all of a sudden just refuse to play video until a reboot. But this is a developer problem, not a Roku problem.
