Must Say I find the second response comment interesting where the statement that he "has seen a comet bounce off the surface of the sun", surprising. I would not have intuitively suspected a Giant snowball could survive such a thing.

Oh it is just so idiot's comment. Really hot hydrogen is opaque, while "cooler" hydrogen is transparent. What we see as the surface of the sun is just the point where hydrogen goes from being transplant to opaque because of the temperature differences, and really isn't even a surface you could bounce something off (if it even survived the heat).
