I'm gonna try and consolidate this. I started smoking weed on and off rarely couple of years ago and I enjoyed it Never really was a big pothead. One day I smoked with my cousin keep in mind i never knew what i was smoking ppl would get it for me and let me smoke with them. The one time i smoked with my cousin i took about 2-3 good hits and i'd say about 20 mins later i the room started spinning i knew I had to sit down. I sit down and i fell into a horrific and I mean terrifying state of Psychosis I was locked into 1 thought at a time which felt like 20 years. I was sure i was gona end up in a mental ward if i would of drove i would of killed myself, those effects lasted about a few hours. My body mind and personality recovered from that and i didnt smoke for a while.

few months later I was under a lot of stress so i figured wtf ill smoke it might make me feel better. so i smoked this blue dream shit the effects weren't as violent as the time i previously stated but i know something was very very wrong i went into a state of panic. this time the depersonalization and feeling of high lasted 2 or 3 days. I developed panic disorder which alleviated after about 2-3 months.

But now I'm dealing with permanent effect on my opinion of life and death I haven't had a panic attack and they cleared me off panic disorder but the strange feeling of fear of death grips me now and I would of never of felt like this if i didn't smoke that weed. Im struggling to try get myself to feel the way I did before i smoked weed.

do you take any other medications like anti-depressants?

chances are you have a chemical imbalance though so go get some blood work done.

low serotonin level is pretty much the biggest red flag given your information imo.

did the zoloft help at all?

I'm not sure I know xanax ofc helps thats a given. I'm really not sure tho I remember waking up on zoloft literally feeling like i got hit by a train. I didnt want to take zoloft because i heard alot of bad things about it and i just dont agree with taking that stuff. but i could be wrong and maybe be paranoid i never had a mentality that favored taking anti depressants.

might just be a matter of finding the right medication. lots of these anti-depressant meds are hit and miss prescriptions.

lots of stress on a person can cause lots of problems.

Baldwin was twenty-eight and severely depressed on the August day in 1985 when he told his wife not to expect him home till late. “I wanted to disappear,” he said. “So the Golden Gate was the spot. I’d heard that the water just sweeps you under.” On the bridge, Baldwin counted to ten and stayed frozen. He counted to ten again, then vaulted over. “I still see my hands coming off the railing,” he said. As he crossed the chord in flight, Baldwin recalls, “I instantly realized that everything in my life that I’d thought was unfixable was totally fixable—except for having just jumped.”

Seek professional help if you're feeling severely depressed. Situations in life can always be changed for the better. Every maze has a solution, even if you can't see it while you're lost inside it. But looking at it from above... Sometimes all it takes is a change of perspective and some perseverance to find a way to solve problems that seem unsolvable.

Definitely seek professional help.

Although, as someone that has dealt with depression for many many years, I might add that you may have already been feeling that way prior to smoking pot. It's entirely possible (based on personal experience) that the drug just made you come face to face with that fear.

Pot always made me focus and delve very deeply into personal issues, which could radically alter my "stability" depending on situation.

I'm not sure if it helps to hear from someone else that similar things have happened, but they have. So you're definitely not alone dude.

And feel free to PM me about this stuff. If anything, I can sit and listen.

this is a normal reaction somebody with a panic disorder or anxiety disorder may experience while using cannabis. THC can trigger panic attacks and psychosis in people with a predisposition to those health conditions. THC is highly psychoactive and should not be used by people with anxiety disorders. i doubt cannabis caused this to happen to you, it merely aggravated a problem you already had.
