huh?
The battery life on the Nexus 7 1 is the longest battery life of all 7 inch tablets in existence (that i am aware of)
browsing the net, the battery will probably last 20-60 hours of actual usage (depends on screen brightness settings and what you are browsing ;))
if watching HD videos on full brightness, it might last 10-14 hours of usage. Most 7 inch tablets last anywhere from 5-9 hours for similar video usage.
Name a 7 inch tablet with better battery life than the Nexus 7 1.

I tried putting a movie on his nexus and we both couldnt get it to show up in movies folder. Does it need a certain format?

Did you copy it into the Movies folder? It should show up, even if its an incompatible format.

Mine drains battery crazy fast. Even when it's plugged in, it can barely get a charge. I've had mine plugged in for 6 hours and it's only at 25%, up from 8%. If I unplug it, it will die within 24 hours, even if you're not using it. Maybe mine is faulty.

Sounds like something is wrong. My nexus 7 takes about 1-2 hours to get a full charge (4% to 100%). When i'm not using it, it uses about 1-2% battery just being idle per day. You might have some app that is sucking a lot of power for some reason. go into the settings and go to battery and it should show what is using so much battery. I'd recommend the ES Task Manager app to see what apps are running in realtime and it has the option to force them to close/stop. Batteries lose their maximum capacity to hold a charge over time (this is a problem with all smart phones and tablets). The problem can be quickly accelerated if you do not allow your battery to become almost completely dead before giving it a full charge. Do not charge your tablet unless you are below 10% battery and make sure it gets charged to 100% before removing it from the charger. If you keep plugging in and unplugging the tablet to recharge only a few % of life, it is killing your batteries maximum charge capacity.

You may want to check under Settings > Storage > Usb computer connection > and make sure the option is set to Media device (MPT). Idk what the problem is. Personally, i've never bothered with the USB connection. I'm always around wireless so i use ES File Explorer to transfer files from my PC to my tablet. I have it set up so that i can access my entire PC hard drive from the file explorer (over wireless). I just copy and paste files to any folder i want. The video file format isnt really impoeant as long as the app you are using to play the video supports that format. If you might need a special app or driver for windows to make transferring files over USB more flexible. Sorry i can be more help on the UBS. I find that ES File explorer works great for all my file transferring needs.
