Many people thought it was because it's water absorbing into your skin, or your skin losing oil, etc. But nope...

It is due to a mechanism triggered by our nervous system. When our fingers wrinkle, it is easier to grip objects underwater. It means the wrinkling is an evolutionary response to the change of our environment.

That is all folks, good day.

This is a theory. There are a bunch of them, has it been proven?

Science does not prove theories. That would be a fools errand.

I don't believe this. Grip under water when my hands are not pruned is the exact same as when they are.

You guys ever read about the aquatic ape theory? it's pretty interesting, I saw a documentary with a part in it about it. It explains why we lost our fur, and our noses evolved the way we did. I use to think that making our own animal skins to make us warmer caused our hair to go away. I wonder why a small percent of the population have hair every where on their body as if they were an ape? Like on the back/ass/shoulders/arms/stomach/etc everywhere lol. I read a article about guys who have a ton of hair are usually really intelligent, some poll at a physics/engineer class they poll the guys for body hair and a huge % of them had it every single place. Weird huh? You would think being more hairy would make you maybe not as intelligent as the beautiful none hair person who look like a "god" lol
