The retail store where I work recently asked me to work in their electronics section. The crash-course training they gave me was basically "LED tv's are a bit nicer than LCD tv's, also we sell cameras." So now I'm working there and I don't know much about the kinds of electronics well sell at all. Does anyone know a website where I can learn about these kinds of things? I'm mostly interested in tv's (including things like HDMI cables and blu-ray players) and cameras.

I can help you out with that one: they're all the same (barring non-compliant knockoffs). It's a digital signal and the HDMI spec already requires a certain level of noise resistance, gold plated cables and extra shielding don't do shit except inflate the price (on two cables of the same length compliant to the same level of HDMI spec).
