I'm going try to make my own LED grow light (much like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2E4avJ7F9QE ) however I don't know much about LED's.

My question is: Say I want to use 20x3watt LED's (10blue/10red) do I need exactly 60watt driver or can I get a larger driver? Also anything else I should know?

You can have a 1000 watts LED driver.
There is a problem only if you try to pull 70 Watts power from a 60 Watts driver, it will burn.

Just make sure your LEDs don't pull too much current to burn it. If you buy LEDs like he has in the video, they probably have an internal resistance since i don't see him soldering some... well i looked at it very fast though...

Get to know what is a semiconductor.
There are many books also on this if you search in some microelectronical/electronical engineering books.

If it doesn't burn... it won't last long and end up burning...
Always have at least 60W available if you want to pull 60W.
You're gonna save a lot of trouble.
