i live out in the country and we have a wireless signal, everytime someone else gets on the signal it slows down a ton...
is there anyway i can boost the signal?
i have a cisco router.
is this even the right forum?
can i even do it?
please help.

it slows down because its being shared. you can't do anything to change this except get a different internet package or move to someplace with real internet options.

there are ways to manipulate modem speeds but they are illegal.

how could i do the illegal stuff? (im not going to do it i just want to know)

edit your routers settings, set up a QoS (google it) also put a password on your router so that only those with the password can connect. also you can buy a stronger antenna but it will only boost your signal strength not your connection.
