i will also consider a good pair of binoculars. The purpose will be for gazing Jupiter and its moons. I want to stay in $300 price range so try not to post something too expensive. Lightweight and easy to set up is a must as it will be traveling with me.

hmm i looked them up on google. nether seem powerful enough to pick up any of Jupiters moons

theres a free app for both windows & mac called Stellarium
u can select a time in the past or future then select a location on the Earth and see what the nights sky looked like at that time
I know its not what u asked for but just thought I'd share with anyone interested in astronomy
