So many technological advancements come out of the aftermath of the space program.
It will take more than this to restore NASA to its former glory. The world population needs to rekindle its sense of adventure and bewilderment of space.
The political motives of a few selfish men are killing off the aspirations and dreams of the many..

i believe that the technological advancements that came from the program can be arguable. i mean, all the advancements could have been done without the space program and would have been a lot cheaper. i mean how much money was designed for a zero gravity pen... the russians used graphite.

i mean it helped push for some technological advancements, but im sure they could have been developed later as well or an alternative technology could have came about

This is a myth.

The reason NASA is being cut budget-wise is because it is massively expensive, has a very high failure rate and constantly squanders vast sums of money while seldom returning results.

The current trend is towards private space exploration anyway, so I see NASA as having numbered days, and it is foolish to try to reverse this trend. State funded space exploration has had it's day and it's just not worth desperately trying to relive those halcyon days.

if only you knew the sheer amount of technology NASA has pioneered. they invented smoke detectors, modern water filtration, and shoe insoles, for christ's sake
