we've polluted space enough as it is.
not to mention the cost of sending it up there would be astronomical
just a quick google search turned this up

about $10k to send 1lb of matter to space.

uh..what?

we've polluted space by an insanely small amount. your standards must be between nothing and nothing if you think we've done a lot to pollute space.

better to burn it here in an isolated locale for power and catalyze the exhaust to ease the pollution. we could harvest hundreds of tons of methane in the process for use in mass transit as well.

space pollution is actually a huge problem, but not in the way Vereor said.

free objects floating in space are an immense threat to space travel. say if one object collides into another to produce several pieces of debris, a chain reaction can happen that makes an entire level of altitude impassible for years

what way did i say exactly?
some good pictures from nasa to give you just an idea of what i was talking about.

" Approximately 95% of the objects in this illustration are orbital debris, i.e., not functional satellites."
pollution. junk. call it what you want. but we're making a hell of a mess in our nearby space as it is.

i know this but the reality of it is he said space as a whole not just our orbit. i agree we need to clean up our immediate area but deep space is open season for this type of thing imo.

You said garbage collected on the moon was space pollution. That is wrong. If you said free floating debris, then I'd have to agree.

I'm not sure how effectively garbage could be burned outside of an atmosphere.

I got inb4'd. Can't burn garbage in the absence of oxygen.
