Ever since I heard of the concept of "brain waves" when I was a child I was like WTF R DEY??

Now I'm a neuroscience major finishing my second year and I'm participating in my adviser's EEG study. Woot! It's been a week long (5 sessions) but today is the day they do the EEG.

I'm pretty sure they're investigating the n400 effect when observing gesture that doesn't match speech for recently learned words in japanese.

I would assume misfires, rerouted signals, or nothing out of the ordinary would be the most likely outcomes.

I'd like an explanation for the "n400 effect"...

Experiments involving the presantation of spoken words, acronyms, pictures embedded at the end of sentences, and videos of real-word events, have all been used to study the N400, just to name a few. excuse my spelling i am uneducated
