First off, im not looking for Dictionary meanings.
I'm curious as to how you would define what wisdom is.
No, this is not a school project or anything. We did this in my philosophy class and it was really interesting.

Wisdom is the ability to apply the right knowledge in the right situation.

Anyway that was my first shot at defining it without thinking too much, if I spent more time I might be able fine tune it more.

Wisdom is knowing a situation without experiencing it.

Now with more metaphor:

Wisdom is knowing that the burner is hot without touching it.

Wisdom is a deep understanding and realization of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to apply perceptions, judgements and actions in keeping with this understanding. It often requires control of one's emotional reactions (the "passions") so that universal principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions. Wisdom is also the comprehension of what is true or right coupled with optimum judgment as to action. Synonyms include: sagacity, discernment, or insight.

Ill just respond to this one.. What if you do the correct thing for you at the time, but then it's the worst decision of your life. Still a wise choice?

I would say that wisdom is being able to know what you want out of life and how best to obtain it. It's knowing when you should fight for something and when you should let it go. It's understanding that the most important things in life are not always the things that provide the most immediate gratification.

This may translate differently from person to person. Some people will want a career and others might want a family. They might think a relationship is worth fighting for, while others would see its ending as a jumping off point for a new direction in life. But that's just human nature. We're not all identical, so two people won't necessarily come to the same conclusion regarding what is and is not wise.
