laptop is fine for light gaming if thats all you do. but if you are wanting to play the latest games at high quality settings a desktop is the only way to go.

and you are going to have to buy it part by part and assemble is to get the "best" parts you can.

He's right, the easiest way to do this would be to go to newegg or tigerdirect (i find newegg has better prices) and search for the best motherboard, processor, ram, video card(s) and everythgin you can find, make sure everythign is compatible and get it all shipped to you. If you don't know how to put it all together well then you never played with legos as a kid
