Has anyone been to one of his speeches or lectures? I have tickets to his lecture on February 15th so I was just curious if anyone had been to one before?
If so, what did you think?

He came to my university and spoke about America's future in space. It was fairly interesting, but I was hoping for more of a physics talk. He's still an interesting guy.

Well he is a physicist of the stars, so to speak. I would say he is quite the candidate for speaking about our future in space. I do hope that he hits quite a few different points, though.

Interesting to hear the feedback on people who have heard him in person or seen some of his stuff online. :)

Yeah that's sort of his big thing. Getting people interested in physics and trying to promote an American future in astronomy/cosmology. It wasn't boring. He's pretty funny, too, but I just like physics lectures

Ask him about his favorite Malbec. That will elicit an interesting conversation. I've never attended any of his lectures, but have chatted with him at an art soiree.

Yeah I have heard he is quite the wine enthusiast. Apparently he is going to tour a local winery earlier in the day.
