I worry that not only global warming is happening, but that it will eventually lead to the end of all life on Earth.

Sound a bit alarmist? Certainly, but take a look at Venus. It is proof of the existence of runaway global warming.

Next, take a look at factors here on Earth. When permafrost melts, it releases large amounts of green house gasses, including large amounts of methane, which is much worse than carbon dioxide. When foilage decomposes, it releases 30 years of stored carbon. Im worried this and other factors might lead to a simular situation on Earth.

I dont know everything, but I do know that anything that has a beginning, has an end. Our atmosphere didnt always support life, and one day it will cease to. I know that our atmosphere is the only one we are aware of that can support life, so atmospheres maintaining this balance must be hard to come by, and be somewhat fragile.

Im no scientist so please ease my worries with facts. And please before you begin with the trolling, take into account that I am not here as a know it all, merely someone looking to have my beliefs challenged. thank you.

the earth has had many climate changes before both cold and hot. we may have accelerated the process but it is not something that is going to kill all life on earth. can it cause deaths? sure but only because we live such unnatural lives and are incredibly overpopulated.

live your life because the reality of it is during your life it won't matter and there isn't anything you can do to stop it unless you happen to know a way to get free clean energy from nothing.

It might be happening do to human industrialization. Hopefully scientific advancement will outpace the climate change and lead to a solution. Even if it happens, it probably won't mean the end of life on Earth. More likely, it will eventually lead to massive sea level rises that will inundate all coastal areas and displace/kill billions of people. We've been unwittingly un-terraforming the planet for years, but I'm optimistic that humanity's scientific progress is already beyond a runaway tipping point that will make us the masters of our own evolution.

There's not much to help ease your mind. The idea of global warming turning into a domino effect is very possible and needs to be considered.

I believe were actually lacking Co2 in the atmosphere, and that Global warming is actually being caused by the sun. Propaganda to make you scared. Green house gases Pffft.

See Venus, and why it is hotter than Mercury.

Climate is a result of a balance in incoming and outgoing heat energy. The oceans are a reservoir of heat energy that also redistribute this heat from the equator to the poles. Ocean currents are ultimately what effects climate. With the current configuration of the continents, ocean basins do not allow current flow in a manner conducive to a runaway global warming. In fact it's more likely that we will be going into a ice age.

Of course :) that's what the greenhouse effect is, once it gets hot enough, it just keeps getting hotter exponentially.
