does warm water clean food (lettuce, apple, etc.) more than cold water?

warm? not really.

the only time heat helps is if its over boiling temperature or if its a contaminate that melts.

it helps a little bit to dissolve any chemicals on the food better

if it was iceberg lettuce then yes

cuz it would melt the ice and allow the water to clean it

ill say yes because hot water well kill the Bacteria if there is any on the food most likey there is

I'd say yes. The more active molecules in the warm water would help to rapidly dissolve any water soluble materials.

I just use cold water. The difference is probably not all that big, and lukewarm fruit/vegetables don't taste as good as cold fruit/vegetables

A warm salad just sounds... gross. Plus warm lettuce gets soft and loses its crispiness. And since lettuce leaves aren't that thick, it doesn't take much to make 'em gross.

You're probably right that the warm water works better, but I mean I've been using cold water all my life and I have yet to get sick from there being too many pesticides remaining on my apple.
