If the moon dissapeared for like an hour.
But was completely dissapeared... not just to the naked eye but imagine if it was teleported somewhere else far, far away, not forever, just for one hour.

Tides would stop. And people would be confused, but if it were just an hour I can't see there being any permanent effects.

most likely there would be mass tidal waves due to the gravitational pull of the moon and its effect on the ocean think about a magnet and what would happen if water were magnetized and instantly released

tidal waves would stop
and your analogy of a magnetic moon and water would have the water stop moving , because the force that moves it ( the moon ) would disapper .....

apart from the tides stopping for an hour
there may be some ocean currants disturbed ( altho im no expert on such things , and couldnt say )
and theres alot of life that uses the moon for various purposes , but an hour wouldnt prevent species mating , etc

and the earth would move very slightly away from the sun ( as the gravitational force pulling the sun towards the earth/moon system would drop by about 1/7th for an hour )
as well as the common point of orbit for the earth/moon system disappearing ( the earth wobbles ever so slightly in its orbit due to the moon pulling the earth towards it as it orbits the earth )
nothing that we would notice tho

in essence , altho it would have quite a few small effects , nothing drastic that i can think of off the top of my head
and nothing permanent

I'm pretty damn sure there would be some serious tidal waves.

tidal waves are caused by the moon
so when you take the cause away ......
