with your parents/grandparents? I get the most damn ignorant comments about my life and about my friends lives. they say things that are not even in reality true at all. no need to go into the stuff they say but how do you guys handle family? im sure most people have SOMEONE in their family that doesnt mind their own business and is always trying to tell you how your life should be.

so how do you guys handle this shit? ive tried explaining how things really are but they persist with what they think. so that doesnt work so i just kind of ignore their BS now as best i can.

so lets get some opinions from other people with dysfunctional families.

Ignore them.

yup my mom is always saying shit that have no basis for conclusion. She doesn't know the exact facts yet she persists on them being true. One example, is that every time I come home late from school, she's like "Oh, you're with that girl again eh, why you always hanging out with that girl". But in reality I was just at the gym.

sigh....

every female in my known family on both sides does that crap. my aunt(crackwhore) has the nerve to mouth off about my life for stuff like wanting to join the military.

i don't talk to anyone of them from grandmas to aunts because they are retarded as hell.

ya lol i imagine that can be annoying on a day to day basis. but the stuff i get is WTF FACEPALM type comments. one of the best was a comment on how i was smoking crack because im skinny. wtf ive never smoked crack in my life. makes me think there fucking crazy.



we know females are bad for this stuff but i have a few males in the family that do the same stuff.

my aunt (my blood uncle's wife) is so understanding of children even though she doesn't have any, I don't get that. One time my family and I were hanging out with them at the restaurant, and my mom decides to bring up the fact that I'm on a 'diet' and she blames that for me appearing to be skinny. (in hopes that they would side with her) But my aunt replies that on a diet doesn't necessary mean eating less, it can also mean being more selective of what you eat. Which is absolutely what I was trying to do since I've been working out now. After she said that, I have the utmost respect for my aunt now. She's so understanding its amazing.

downside is my extended family is 90% female. all are pieces of shit but somehow none of them realize it.

What you should say is something along the lines of "It's my life. If you want to continue being a part of it, then stop telling me how to live it. I know what I'm doing. And if I make a mistake along the way, then that's my mistake to make and to learn from."
