I have a piece of branch from a tree I'm using for a Charlie Brown-esque Christmas tree

Currently the end is cut at an angle in a glass bottle with water and it's receiving some sunlight

I did prune it down and take off some foliage to make it look sparse

Is there anything else I can do to make it last longer?

Thanks

spray it down with hairspray periodically.

makes it more flammable but it keeps it looking fresh and from losing a lot of needles.

Root powder or gel if you want to propagate it.

I found the gel worked better when I used to grow marijuana.

Mist every 5min or so, also you can super thrive it. Depends which species but the sooner you can get some hormone on it and put it in medium the better.
