I have to write a research paper on whether or not anabolic steroids should legal in sports or not. I've read a few articles and documents on both sides of the debate, and both seem to have reasonable arguments. I want to see what you guys think. I'm setting up polls on a few different websites so I have as big a sample as possible. Please, after you vote, explain why you chose what you did.

First of all i think steroids are already illegal.
There is no need to debate on this.

If sports existed in a vacuum, then answer would be yes. Athletes are rich and can pay for doctors who will be able to make sound medical decisions and use steroids in the right way.

But the reality of the situation is that athletes are role models and their behavior will be emulated by kids. And all those kids won't have access to the same medical care that pro athletes have.

if roids are legal and every athlete is on steroids then steroids will no longer give an athlete the upper hand

Sports would become even more stupid then it already is.

We already have a bunch of beef cake rejects slamming into each other. Why exacerbate it?

In sports where performance is key, no. Even if they create different leagues for natural contestants and contestants on steroids, the steroid one will prevail leaving natural leagues in the shade. Then there will be a contest of who has the best doping, steroids etc.

This is how it is in bodybuilding for example, the most popular "leagues" are the untested ones, because those interested in the activity want to obviously see more striking results.

illegal because most athletes dont want the side effects or have to use needles to have a upper hand. bodybuilding is an example of two ldagues: mens open where if youve taken or failed that truth test w.e its called and all natural where supplements are allowed ( no aas ) but estrogen blocking sups are allowed up to 6 weeks prior competition. im not a great source but i know a few things here and there. my stance is keep illegal because long term use may result in cancers and and irreversible side effects. i hope i was able to help if not pm me with more detailed questions and ill post here so others can comment.
e/ kayeto made a prime example on kids & steroids.
