1 in every 10 autistic kids have savant skills (excelled in a particular area)
Was randomly a though of mine, why do you think that Autistic kids have an increased chance of having these skills?
I just find it weird that a person who is noted as mentally retarded also can be brilliant at the same time. #mindfucked

Maybe it's the same thing as... One sense sucks, so the others become better (I.E. horrible sight, so better hearing)

Or possibly since they can't do much anything else, the one thing they CAN do, they just do it well... Since they can't do anything else

And now if one Autistic Savant person can reproduce with another the genetic chances of the next generation having the same problem have to increase tenfold.
We should start breeding Autistic Savant people.

Edit: think about it, FG syndrome which is what Kim Peek (the person that rainman is made after) is an X chromosomal linked recessive disorder. If you cross it with another person with the same disorder its a 100% chance that they will have it (crossing xx:xx). What if we kept breeding these to the point where they were our most brilliant minds in the word and were able to just thrive to solve all problems.

I guess it's just logical. Brain capacity is somewhat "constant", you lose some capacity here and gain some there

basically autistic people gain brain capacity at the expense of social capabilities iirc. Savants are extreme cases and usually lack in motoric and/or social abilities.

isnt the whole thing behind autism is that their brains are wired differently?
if thats true then its not hard to see why once in a while the brain is enhanced (in some areas) due to this rewiring instead of dampened

A lot of people believe that I have savantism.

I'm obviously not autistic, but i excel in a LOT of things. Way more than most people. You name it, i can probably do it.

I remember reading that savants can be non-autistic, though way more rare.

Or perhaps im just a very skilled individual who is trying to explain why lol
