im living in dorm, and im having trouble connecting to xbox live
i have a wireless adapter, and my roomate has a router
i have my xbox 360's mac adress registered in the school system
my laptop has internet connection because of the router

despite all this i still cant manage to connect to xbox live wirelessly.
my wireless adapter cant find any networks including my roomates router

i also tried to another way of connecting to xbox live. i tried sharing my laptop's internet connection by connecting my 360 to my laptop with the cord that was connecting the adapter and 360.
i made it so that my router shares the connection also in the network settinngs.
after trying to connect, it failed and it said somehting about mac filtering and DHCP

can somebody please help me :(

Buy a 4 (or 8) port network SWITCH. Do not use a ROUTER. Routers generally do not work on campus networks due to the way they set up DHCP.

You sure you have the xbox with built in wireless? lol

the normal (white) xbox wireless adapters have been known to just not work

and you cant use a non microsoft adapter

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
just plug your xbox into your laptop via ethernet cable and bridge the connection
google it if you dont know how to make a bridge
Yeah I had an old linksys Wrt54G router, but i installed the D-WRT firmware on it and set it to just act like a bridge, maybe your roommate will allow you to do that instead of having to buy a bridge.
