question about a question

Ok guys, i have a weird/unusual question
Nothing illegal or even remotely shady don't worry, not sure if this the best place/subforum for this but was suggested on general chat i try here

Question is:

How would you go about amplifying the ring of a telephone ( bog standard/old landline telephone) beyond having it attached to a bell?
Reason: i live with my grandmother who is sadly losing her hearing ( she isn't deaf, nor close, but just has bad hearing and refuses to get a hearing aid..)
And if im not around to tell her, she very often doesn't hear the phone
Its connected to a bell and its quite loud, but if she is in another room with door closed, she still doesn't hear it
However, there are speakers in most rooms ( my late granfather wanted music everywhere in house ) that are being unused atm
Maybe stupid question, but any super clever way to attach phone so you hear the phone ringing through speakers? ( as well as usefull, now im just curious if this is possible!

So, any ideas?

pretty sure you can get special ring tones for these cases. they use relaly high pitched tones as compared to normal tones.

How can you get a different ring tone for a house telephone?

don't remember how it worked or specific models it worked on. seen something a long these lines a few years ago just don't remember where.

Can't you just get another phone line run to the room where she goes that she can't hear the first phone with the bell attached, and then attach a bell to that one too?

You could use a relay that operates on the low voltage from the phone ringer, then operates a higher voltage circuit "like a doorbell style ringer". Cruise to Radio Shack and they can probably walk you right through this easily. Either that or search the internet for a prefab one
