depends on several factors, the temperature of the feed water ( city water ), the wattage of the elements and the insulation

ya was just kinda looking for a rough estimate. roommate was trying to blame me/other roommate for electric bill since we have ac units. past month we never used em though since its getting colder out. just wanted to get some background about shower heat and if an argument started where he wants more $ from us, i would just turn around and ask him for more $ since he takes 30 minute showers.

computers use a lot of power (desktops 2-3x more than laptops, and CRTs use more than flat screens) so turning your computer off (or at least putting it on standby) at night or when you're not using it can make a pretty big difference.

i have no problem paying the bill its like 30$ per person (no heat atm) for gas + elec.
i leave my laptop running all the time but i either have it on when im using it, or i close the lid and i believe it goes to stand-by then.
