so i just took a physics exam and only 1 question stumped me, it involved a rocket accelerating up at 17 ft/sec2 and it asked how far did the rocket travel when accelerating from 40-210 feet/sec.

what i did is subtracted 40 from 210 and divided by 17 and got 10 feet, was i right?

vf = vo + at
210-40 = at
t = (210-40)/(17)
t = 10 seconds

needed to plug that back in:

xf = xo + vt +at^2

where xo = 0
xf = distance travelled
v = 40, a = 17, t = 10
is what you should have had i believe. also, this may be more appropriate in homework help hotline

ahh so i figured out the time, but didn't find the distance, probably should have thought that out a little more, but oh well i was cramped for time

thanks btw
